the main on/off toggle switch on my DKjr cabinet is flaky and i'd like to replace it. when i took the cover off i noticed that there's a bunch of extra stuff on the switch, like a cap between the 120v (hot) and neutral lines, and some wire-wound doughnut thing stuck on there.

can i just replace this with a standard di-pole switch or do i need to find a switch that i can swap over all the extra parts onto? there's a bunch of goo on there too making it hard to see what connects where.

Forget about that stuff, it's just a filter. You could replace it with a modern EMI filter if you wanted:

ah, so that's what that stuff is. i think i've got a couple of spare line filters running around and i might throw one in when i replace the switch.

thanks!
