I finally have to admit that my beacon motor for my High Speed is toast. A while back the wires popped out, and I resoldered them fine, but after closer look the gear teeth are stripped, one of the gears needs to be glued back together, one of the rods is poking through the case, the mount is broken and the motor wobbles. I could fix each of those problems but....

I found on another forum that a 24 VAC 5 RPM Gearhead Motor Crouzet 82344881 is a good replacement and it drops in as a replacement beacon motor. I bought one for $10 on ebay.

My question is: is the voltage on the regular beacon motor AC or DC? Is it 24 volts?

If you have a High Speed, or a F1 Tomcat (which has the same motor) would you mind plugging in a voltmeter to yours so I am sure that I won't plug mine in and burn it out?

Here is a link to the motor.

Ah, so the game driver board does provide AC voltage. Thanks. I think the motor then will be a great drop in as I won't need to change a thing.

Got my replacement motor today. Perfect match. Almost too perfect. Shape, size, voltage.

I think that whatever motor was used in 1986, came from the same company or a company that took over and made the motor for the same application.

The label says it was made in France, and unlike the ebay listing, it says 25/5 RPM not 5 RPM. So I don't know what that exactly means but French people are weird like that.
