Picked up a big red today with a 25" RCA mated to a Sharp Image SI-727R•DS that looks like it's been swapped in at some point to replace the original monitor. Looks like it's a dual res.

Completely dead, fuse is good but zero life, no HV or neck glow.

Are these decent chassis worth repairing or should I swap in something else with better parts availability?

sharpimagerepair.com i am pretty sure is repairing them, but not sure if anyone else is.

Hrmmm apparently these chassis are notorious for the HOT going out. I'll replace the hot and get a cap kit and filter to keep on hand, go from there.

These chassis' suck to repair. I asked for help with another 33in to see if anyone would repair it, and no one offered. I think we all know how to repair them, they're just way too time consuming. Try chad @arcadcup maybe.

It's on its way to Sharp Image Repair for all the reasons you stated. I've got too much going on to get buried in yet another obscure and troublesome monitor chassis, the Matsushita was already busting my bawls.

I hope you have better luck with them than I did.
I paid a lot of money for repair work on two chassis with those guys that both died again with fewer than 10 hrs on them.
Took forever to get them back and I had to pester them multiple times.
Came back dirtier than I sent them and with only a few parts replaced, i.e. no all fresh caps as promised.
Totally burned me.
I'll hope for better for you.

Yikes. They turned the chassis around in a few days and I have had it running ever since so far without any issue. Currently they are working on a Matsushita chassis for me so we will see how that goes. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, glad you shared it though.
