Aloha All,

The 1P joystick on my World Series Baseball 99 machine is dying and needs to be replaced. I have the manual for WSB99 but it does not indicate what kind of stick it uses or how to disassemble the CP to get to it.

I am guessing it is just a 4 way joystick based on some experimentation, which I can definitely get.

Does anyone have experience replacing sticks in these machines? Any tips?

Thanks - Brian

Your game uses an analog joystick, which are unfortunately extremely expensive. You can hack into PC or console sticks to make something work, or you may be able to get away with a 49-way.

Knowing nothing about your cab, I'd probably shine a flashlight up the coin door to look for the clamps / screws to remove the CP.

Got a NOS World Series 99 control panel for a candy cab I would sell if interested. Probably looking at getting $100 plus shipping though. Everything is brand new on it and has not been used.

Ah OK, I did not know that. I thought based on playing with the stick that it has a 4 way in it now. (It makes the distinctive clicks of a stick with the 4 microswitches.) That might be the problem with it is that it has the wrong stick in there now.

I need to figure out how to open up the CP so I can get in it and look. I think I might have figured it out but if anyone has any guidance I'd appreciate it.

Thanks - Brian
