I am new to this website and having a ball! Since my start at collecting arcade games(2 yrs) I have noticed alot of boards have some kind of rigged together ( speakerwire, transistors etc) on the back of these boards. Is this a way around buying the original parts and or some kind of modification?

please elaborate if you have the time.

Thanks

Some of these modifications were mid production manufacturer upgrades.

Others were repairs to damaged traces on the boards. Basicly the technician conducting the repair replaced a broken circuit on the board with a wire.

Still others were designed with components on the back of the board in order to make the component accessible or just to make it fit on the board.

Bottom line is..don't remove them without checking here first. :)
