So I recently had my stargate boards repaired. I threw them in and now I get just a red screen. Checked the voltage at 4116 and all voltage is good except -5 is pulling -6. The power supply was changed out with a switching power supply. All voltage is correct on that also. The board reads 0 but after about 5 minutes of it bring on the boards seem to lose power seeing as when I was checking voltage instead of reading 0 on the board it just seemed to turn off and I didn't get any reading.

Going by your description, my first guess would be that you may have a bad switching power supply. Check to make sure that all your connections are solid, no loose terminals or fittings.
Williams games have had known issues with switching power supplies.
I'd rebuild your original Williams linear power supply and you will be good to go for years to come. If you don't feel confortable doing that, there are others on this forum like YellowDog and Dokert that can do it.

...also...if you are still using the original Williams connectors, replace them with new Molex connectors - Bob Roberts sells the complete Williams kits.

You are losing power somewhere and these would be the most likely candidates.

defender power supply

i think its a week switcher,i have a spair with defender harness on it if u wana try it i can ship it , return the favor somehow, also have an extra untested linear too.

replaced the molex connectors.....WORKING! i feel i should do this to my working Defender just cause its actually fun.

dokert....thank you for the instructional video also. it helped me and made this actually fun to do instead of insane.
