Repair Video of Peale's Galaxian PCB (and a little arcade game architecture)

Very nice video. I'm going to be watching your other ones for sure.

I don't have any fancy equiptment yet, but I hope as my education furthers I can aquire some of it, and learn how to use it.

Great vid and thanks for the link to the TTL data book! Board level repair is really something I want to get into more.

Question...are these roms data accessible? How come you didn't just check the roms right on the board using the Fluke? You don't even need to pull them.

Go here:

http://tech.quarterarcade.com/tech/

Use the "search for Mame driver" thing at the bottom, and i'll list the roms and what their equivalent fluke sigs should be, including the addresses.

I've been compiling reference sheets for various ones I've messed with so far so I can just pull the sheet (or pull up a pdf file) and see what they are.

Gotta watch the code generator on that site though, it has issues in that it bases the program names off the mame name for the game, and often the program names are too large for the fluke compiler to accept it.

You can't do sig checks on graphics ROMS.... the CPU doesn't have access to them. (They're not in the CPU's address space)
