Hey there! I'm a new Michigander, living in West Dearborn, and I was wondering if y'all have any recommendations for trusted arcade techs in the area. I have a CarnEvil that needs looked over and tuned up when the weather gets a bit warmer. Thanks a bunch.

Welcome to West Dearborn neighbor!

Sorry I don't have any recommendations for you. I know a local guy but I don't know exactly what he repairs. Good luck.

Hi! Welcome to KLOV!

What is wrong with your CarnEvil?

We might be able to help you tune it up. If you can post pictures of your machine we can walk you through doing any tuning.

Hey, thanks for the welcome!

The biggest issue is that my monitor is dark and makes it impossible to calibrate the light guns. I've tried adjusting all the pots to brighten the screen, but even at max brightness it's not good enough and just washes everything out. I've done a cap kit on the monitor but that didn't help anything. Haven't tried replacing the flyback yet, and I probably wouldn't on my own. Hence why I'm looking for a tech to lend a hand, tools, and knowledge.

I also have an issue with sound cutting out during certain parts of the attract sequence, but that's not an immediate concern, as it doesn't interfere with gameplay.

Did you try adjusting the brightness up on the flyback?

The flyback has two knobs. Focus & Brightness.

This is the "Major" brightness adjustment. Adjust the remote board brightness pot to the middle. Then turn up the flyback brightness to about where you want it. Use the remote board brightness to fine tune.
