I am repairing / restoring a cab that was converted to SF2, not sure what it was originally but has a 19K4901. Previous owner says no picture but they had sound, they showed me 2 wires disconnected near the neck board. Upon further inspection i see wires on the main board straight up hand twist tied, I'm talking bare wire twisted together (these are the RGB lines). Damn. It looks like there is burn in. Is it worth repairing?

Try posting in the monitor section. This type of monitor is fairly desirable these days. If you can save it you probably should.

The K4900 is a great monitor, very reliable, in fact I have came across several and they have always been in working condition, however they are very hard to find replacement tubes for. You might consider replacing it with a K7000, they are common and very easy to find a replacement tube.

Thanks is the monitor chassis pretty easy to swap in a K7000? I have never done a monitor swap. I Think I will attempt a repair on this first and see the monitor condition.
