I made this suggestion in the suggestion box section, but I'm guessing most folks don't regularly read that, so here it is again :)

I propose a repair log section for people to share their experiences repairing games. It would be great if it could be organized be game or mfg too, or at least a standard thread naming convention (kind of like the FS threads are supposed to be). There is a ton of information and help being tossed around in the regular repair section for sure, but perhaps repair logs would give people a place to check first. Personally, I enjoy reading them to see what issues people have seen and how they tackled them.

I second the nomination. I further suggest that the repair log section have more liberal image attachment size and number limitations. The present restrictions all but force the use of off-site image storage, which is immediately inconvienent, and unreliable in the long term.

I have taken to posting my repair logs on Aussie Arcade until the situation here improves. Things are a little slower over there, but the quality of the repair logs is generally high, and they are all together in a sub-forum.

How about adding an editable WIKI to KLOV where people can begin to
add in repair advice. It can be reviewed by the community and added to
by members.

Lot easier then stickies or a million posts with advice scattered about.

A wiki is a better solution. The folks over at Arcade Otaku have one.

Great idea, but don't expect much from here for implementation.

Don't need to implement it here as I've already done it...

You just need to sign up as a contributor and you can add repair logs for PCB's, Parts and Games.

It allows you to track what parts were replaced, what diagnostic steps were taken, how much the repair cost, etc...

Sign up is free and anyone can contribute.

You can then search by game, manufacturer, or keyword.

I'll continue to keep my logs over on the NLG forums no matter which way it gets implemented here.
