In my list of follys as I try to get a monitor in a game working, the next thing I did after blowing up a K7000 board, was put a cap in backwards in one. It was a C57, and it caused the fuse to immediately blow. Also blew out the voltage regulator, but spared everything else seemingly. Cap didn't blow up, but it was domed pretty good.
SO! If you ever decide to put C57 in backwards (which isn't too hard to do, some times the goo on it covers the 'plus' sign), you'll probably fry your voltage regulator.
