The one on the right is the target I unbolted from the machine. The one on the left is a new target I purchased to replace it.

The NEW one I got has like a diode with a yellow piece in middle connecting the two pieces. The original one does not. Do I leave the diode on the new one and just soder the wires on the metal tabs like the original one? Or do I remove the diode?

Thanks for help!

It looks more like a small value capacitor than a diode.

I would make the new switch look like the one that you are replacing, if there is no other components on the old switch, remove all of the components from the new switch.

yeah... looks like a cap to me. Some games (like bally) have a cap across the switch as a debounce mechanism. I agree with what Geese said. Just make it look like the original one.

FYI: The diodes on those games (gottlieb) are on a dedicated board rather than on each switch like other games.
