This is a vague question without pics... I removed my old tempest overlay with gentle use of a pry bar, stripped, sandblasted, and resprayed. Unfortunately with the high gloss black paint I can see some dents in the metal.
Last month I bought a harbor freight body hammer set, but it was basically worthless on my Nintendo coin door. The steel was so thick that I couldn't reshape it at all and had to take it to an auto body shop. This control panel is thinner gauge steel but I remain skeptical that I make any improvement.
What do you think? Should I pursue fixing the dents or will it look fine once the overlay is applied? I don't know how much is going to show through.
