I'm starting to work on my Road Blasters. It has a Disco monitor.
I've never plugged it in but it at least has a broken width coil.
I'd like to rebuild it and start with a "fresh" monitor.
I don't know anything about the Disco other than various people claiming "they suck".
A quick search looks like there's not much available for parts.
So my questions are Do they suck? Is it worth it to rebuild it? Who has parts other then a cap kit?

Flybacks are not available for the Disco. The best you can do is cap it.
I'm not sure if there's a width coil that is an acceptable substitute for the disco.

My advice is plug it in. If you get any HV out of it, I think they're worth rebuilding. When they do work, they have a great picture.
The one in my I Robot is probably the sharpest monitor I've got.

I will note if you decide to get a cap kit from APAR, it's missing like half a dozen caps. I've got them written down somewhere if you care and decide to go that route.

For the width coil, follow what ArcadeCUP would do.

Get three toothpicks.
Carefully straighten the width coil.
Hot glue each toothpick to the top and bottom of the width coil, at around 120 degree spacing.
Fixed. It will work fine.
