Removing / Replacing the joystick guide diaphragm!?

Probably got the wording wrong. not sure what its called.

basically on the control panel between the art side and base there is a black plastic disk. its like a guide/dust stopper that is sandwiched between the artwork and the base of the control panel.

Basically i have purchased some new joysticks but the holes in the old disks are too small. i cant see how to remove them without removing the artwork.

any ideas?

cheers

Alex

Joy dust shield

It was put on before the artwork. You will most likely have to leave it in place and make the hole bigger. What game is it?

i dont need it in no. but as you can see it looks like its seen some hammer or someone has cut it. id like to remove it.. not sure of the best way. my new sticks have been supplied with new disks but like i have said, i think the only way to remove them is by taking the artwork off.

solved it.

i removed the control panel to have a better look. after removing the hing i noticed the artwork was loose. i saw some other nuts so removed these.

the artwork then came off. its on a steel plate with some studs that are bolted on the reverse. i guess the artwork is a self adhesive transfer. see pic.

Thanks for the help
