AS title states, I have a wire ramp that comes painte yellow, over time the paint has worn in some spots and there is some rust. I'm thinking I will remove the paint and polish it with a wire wheel etc. Anyone know of a good way to remove the paint? Let it sit in paint remover for a while will do the trick? Thanks.

Are you sure its paint?? If it is paint citrus strip will not do much to it. Lacquer thinner should soften it up enough to brush it off. If it is powder coated, then bead blasting is the best way to remove it, then re powder coat it!

It's a powder coat actually... Just go get it sand blasted and recoated as it will look awesome in the back corner of that LAH redone!

what i would do is hit the rust spots with some OSPHO

http://ospho.com/

then i would color match the yellow and touch it up as best i could and move on to the next project

wire wheel brushing is a total pain in the neck trying to get into those nooks and crannies, aint going to happen. you just wasted more time and money

maybe sand blasting it and then spray painting but still thats not going to be right in the end if its powder coated

I've used Rust-oleums aircraft remover. That shit is nasty to work with but it will strip any paint or rust of metal. Sold at most auto part stores. What ever you do dont let it touch exposed skin. It burns away skin/flesh too.

+1 nasty shit. I use it for stripping control panels and I can never avoid having at least some of it accidentally splash on my exposed arms. It burns like crazy. Make sure to pick up some good, thick, gloves that you won't mind throwing away. Also make sure you're working somewhere you don't mind that nasty slop falling on.

For all that negative, this stuff makes control panels and paint just melt right off.
