I was cleaning my Daytona USA machines and there was bubblegum all over one set. I razor bladed the globs off, but was stuck with a sticky residue. On the metal pieces this was easy to remove with steel wool, but I have ground in gum stuck in rubber floormats and cannot get the icky out no matter what I've tried. Goo Gone soaking on it seems to loosen it a bit but still solid after repeated applications. Warm soapy water doesn't seem to help. Magic Eraser doesn't appear to be doing much...

Anyone know of something rubber/plastic safe that can get that final residue of bubblegum off of machines where I can't sand or scratch super hard? Its in a channel so I can't razor blade it clean. This shit is strong as hell and 15 years of hardening has made it tough as steel.

30 year old gum is still nasty. I had some inside a coin return. broke out the glob, and got the rest out with goo gone. Maybe just keep trying goo gone

I remember when I was little, I'd get my fingers covered in bubble gum, sometimes Doublemint (which can be ABSURDLY sticky) and the grown-ups always used ice cubes on my fingers. made it solidify, and then it peeled off in chunks.

in all honesty, I use Windex to remove gum. Goo Gone is made for that purpose though, but can become an oily mess.

I'd experiment with various sharp objects combined with one or both of the sprays.

Don't know if this would work, but freezing the gum with the old upside-down dust-off might let you scrub it out with a stiff bristle brush?
