As I am taking apart my Battlezone controls to rebuild, I am stopped by the fact that someone GLUED them to the wood. Plus are already look pretty broken up. I tried a hot gun, but didn't want to heat up the plastic too much.
Then I tried my hot knife, hmmm, didn't work much either.

I need some ideas on removing the Control Handle Housing from the wood?
Don't ask about the wire, very "jerry-rigged" together.

Thank you,

Try nail polish remover, that stuff is the clue removing master.

KrisK you are a genius!
I put a little nail polish remover around the base with a q-tip and within
a few minutes, BOTH handles where off of the wood base.
Man it was like MAGIC!!!

Even did a video for my blog of me ripping the handles off of the base!

FWIW, nail polish remover is almost entirely acetone. You can buy a whole can of acetone for about the same as a jar of nail polish remover.

Well... maybe not on the west coast, where any solvent worth a damn is outlawed...
