I was inspecting my somewhat recent purchase of Jurassic Park and the previous shop job is not up to my liking. To get the best access and do the best job I can I want to remove the playfield from the cabinet to teardown for clean/polish/wax and rerubber. I've pulled playfields from an EM and Revenge from Mars and they were simple but this seems a bit more involved. Any tips on making it an easy and safe removal? - barry

I've torn down and shopped two JPs and left the playfield in the cabinet. With DE games, you can get the playfield slid forward far enough that you don't need to remove it. I'd start with it in the game and if you aren't getting the access you want, you can always remove it later.

If you want to remove it, you just need to unplug everything in the backbox and lift it out. Rest the playfield on the props, then lift and pull it forward onto the slides. From there it will lift right out. It will take two people.
