I don't seem to have anyone local that has a rejuvinator so I'm trying to pick one up for myself cheap. I'm seeing some B&K 465's and sencore cr-13's and even a B&K 445 cheap.
Will any of these do a 33" tube? I'm quite new to rejuvinating so I'm afraid I don't really know what to look for in one rejuvinator over another.

Any help?

Thanks!

they will work. Most of the tubes have the same neck so only a few sockets are used.
Try to get a tester that has a universal connector also so that you can put the leads where you want them to, that is if you dont have the right socket.
I have a sencore cr-70 and i use socket 3 about 90% of the time. 10 percent was the universal connector until i pick up socket 13 and now i rarely use the universal.
I believe the sencore cr-7000 has my socket 3 as their socket 1 so things change among the same manufacturer also.
monitors from the go7 to digital still use the same neck tube socket. thats over 40 years so your going to need a rejuvinator sooner or later.

I have a BK490B which is all automatic for the most part...very easy to use. You can find a .pdf of the application chart for the rejuvenator you ar looking to buy and make sure you get the adapter for the tube you need to do. I could do it fo ryou if you want to drive down here :)

I would not buy a BK older than 467 if I were you. I also have a BK490 and love it...

That's my biggest concern. I don't want to get a model that is TOO old to be useful, but at the same time I don't want to get one of the $250-$300 models for my occasional use :)

Takeman, I'd love to head down if only to check your games out again, but this is a 33" showcase and I sold my truck!

eBay is my only hope at this point, just a matter of how little I can get away with spending I guess.

keep checking eBay for B&K's; while they sometimes sell for quite a bit they also occasionally sell cheap.

if you're looking for something even a bit more simple and always selling for cheap, there's the Heathkit 5230 which i've had good luck with. i had to build my own adapter but that wasn't too difficult.

I'm planning on having a party on 06/12/10....you can bring it with..hahaha

A 467 should do fine for ya then....usually about $100 or so. The BK website has a .pdf of the application chart so you be sure it has what you need. Likely its a CR23....

If you ever get over to minneapolis i will rejuve it for you. I also have a 35 inch and a 33 inch monitor if you need one.
Word of advice. Sometimes you can loose a color altogether or, it never comes back when you rejuve, so rejuving is not a cure all everytime. You pays your money and takes your chances!

A 466 is very useful ---- if ---- it has been updated to use the modern "CR" series adapters.

If it has been updated, then it will be the equivalent of a model 470.

how does one know if it's been upgraded.

do these pics help to see if it has been upgraded. I'm assuming no...

If you can find one on eBay for $300 or less, take it...
SENCORE CR7000.

I will not touch another rejuvenator ever...

The crt setup guide that should come with it is fantastic.. old to modern tube #'s..

That has not been upgraded but it appears to have most, if not all, of the adaptors you will need. It looks like you have the equivalent of a CR23, a CR31, and a CR25. If you have any color vectors you will need a CR24; Matsushitsa monitors use a CR30.

those pics are from an auction.

These seem to be going for less than $50 which seems like a good price if it works for most tubes that I own. I have mostly K7000 and Nintendo monitors. One is a Sega/Nanao 20." The rest are pretty common standard res 19-25" tubes.

Well, it looks good but I don't know for sure that the adaptors are the ones you need. If you are willing to to a little crimping you can upgrade the rejuvenator if necessary. Building adaptors requires crimping and soldering.
