I bought a Redzone multi-kit just because I think it's cool and I really want to play some Battlezone II and also play some Omega Race with Battlezone controls (sounds cool!) but I don't own a cab for it.

So it just sat on a shelf.

I recently found someone (who I already knew) that owned a BZ mini cab and I let them borrow my Redzone multi-kit, mainly because I really wanted to know what the gameplay was like. Also, why not, it wasn't being played anyway.

Fast forward and it's been over two weeks, and I heard through the grapevine the he loves the Redzone multi-kit, but I haven't reached out to him about it. And he hasn't reached out to me either. I'm really not in a hurry and if he's loves playing it, that's cool. I just really wanted to hear first hand what the gameplay was like. What his thoughs were on the Redzone multi-kit.

So that's my Redzone Quandary... I'm not thinking it's anything nefarious of course. I just hope I don't drive by and see his house up for sale and he's long gone with my Redzone multi-kit. That would suck.

What do you think happened?

I hear it's being returned today and the thoughts/feedback will be included in the return..

My guess was everyone was busy (I know I am.)

Curious to hear that feedback myself.
I wanted to get one of those boards but I haven't been able to get an answer from anybody about color monitor support.

at this point we may never add color support now that vector wars is available. the red zone upgrade socket can support 128 colors iirc (more if we add more hardware) and vector wars can do 1.07 billion colors. 1739129440701.png

The way it is now is fantastic but this is welcome news...just wondering with update 1.9 why I get a message from Teensy saying "RedZone_1.9_hex (too large!)
I've got two of your boards and only now went to do the update.

The too large message means the update is too large for the device. This happens when the computer sees no device. Therefore by its logic the update is too large for the hardware found ( no hardware) 2 ways to fix this
1. Make sure you are using a data cable not a charge only cable
2. Make sure you press the connect button on the PCB.

Thanks. Got it all working now. I'm having difficulty with Pi Position. I got a new Pole Position-to-JAMMA adapter from PCBjunkie.net so as to test it on the bench and not to have to pull the game out and inadvertently connected the shorter (video) connector backwards, which inadvertently would have shorted the RGB signals. I hope I didn't damage the raspberry pi or the pi position board. I get text buts its missing sync but that was before I loaded any rom files so any pointers would be appreciated. I know there are threads on this board.

PS: I'm that guy that had outstanding artwork orders (2 to six years) from TOG and finally got everything delivered
