I built a monitor from a 25" Phillips tube and a wei-ya 825HR. Yoke resistances were close enough to try so I went for it. Ended up working near perfect, colors are fantasitc, clean signal, great geometry except the width is a tiny bit too wide, even with the width pot turned all the way down. I would love to keep using this tube, how can i get the width to come down a tad more? It's probably stretched about 1 inch or so wider than needed. Of course, I have no schematic for the wei-ya. (And please, lets not recite the whole 'get another chassis aka wei-ya sucks' non productive nonsense)
Can I -
1) Insert a worthy resister inline with the H yoke wires? (i know these can flow 40V+)
2) Insert a resistor inline with the width trim pot?
3) Swap the width coil? (need to know the original width coil inductance i suppose)
4) Change the capacitor tied to the width coil with something smaller?
Thanks
