Red Tent Registry?

Ooh. Coin counter numbers would be cool.

I can request that info later I suppose. Right now, just getting some initial info and building the beta site as we speak.

Also, if any of you could help me research the history behind the red tent with japanese writing, that would be helpful. I'm guessing they are just early models or Japanese imports. Maybe I'll ask ataritoobin who seems to be my answer to all my Japanese pop culture related questions. :)

Thanks for the suggestion!

I noticed my Manual has two model numbers listed on the cover. One with the US suffix and one without.
Can anyone with the Japanese writing confirm the model number???

The Unofficial Nintendo Red Tent Registry website (1.0 beta :)) is now live!

I apologize in advanced for lack of content, possible factual or grammatical errors as well as lack of design and creativity.

Keep in mind, I did this late last night and it is still in a very raw and simple state right now. I used a simple website builder and haven't gotten to doing any HTML or actual design yet.

Please feel free to give me feedback and suggestions. I'm hoping if we put our minds together, we can make this site as awesome as it can be.

Thanks!

So far so good! How bout' having a place to download music for the different vs. games?

Maybe a restoration section would be nice for those of use who are looking into getting a Red Tent. :)

It looks really good! I look forward to seeing all of the RT's! I would like a wanted/for sale area for Red Tent parts only, but I guess it would be a little sketchy as far as trusting people goes.

Either way I think it is really cool so far!

Thanks for creating it!

Looks pretty good. Will be a nice resourse once more info available. Anyone know what years these were produced and the price?

Couple small errors on my registry... It's Sheboygan, not Sheboygen and my username is smello not a zero. Not like it's a big deal though. I guess if you get around to editing it, you could probably put in that it was also acquired in Sheboygan also. I didn't see that option when I submitted my form.

I like that there is a site dedicated to the Tent only.

Something to include in the future sometime could possibly be people's memories of the systems in arcades or in other places back in the day.

Maybe at some point in the future too, would be a form on the page to submit the registry info.

I would also like to see detailed information on all of the vs games, screenshots, differences from the NES versions, release dates, flyers, etc.
It would also be cool to be able to download and print the vs cards that you put behind the plexi.

If you need help, I'm sure people here could provide writeups, pictures, videos, etc for whatever you need.
Would also be nice to have like a technical information like the monitor model, schems, stuff like that.

I also found a direct link to the keys. I know how many people are looking for these. Probably worthwile to include somewhere. Not sure how good of a deal it is, but looks like $26 for a pair. If anyone has a better source, please feel free to enlighten.

Well, seems one way or another I will be adding my name to this list within the next week or so... got a few details to iron out, but I'm getting one, finally...

I agree with everything you said! Here is a link to some good information. You can download marquees here too. I cant seem to get them the right size for some reason. They keep printing smaller. I'm sure its user error though! :)

I've got a question on the Red Tents, when and where were they used? I spent a lot of time and money in the arcades from the late-70's through the mid-80's and every gas station, grocery store, and drug store in town at the time had a game or two in the corner. But I have never seen one in person. As a matter of fact I had never even heard of them until I saw them mentioned on KLOV a couple of years ago.

All very good points Smello. Sorry, I think the capital O in your PM looked like a zero to me. I'll fix the errors ASAP.

I would love to add all that content although it's going to take a good amount of time. Any stories, info, pictures, etc. that you think would be useful, just email it to the email I noted above and I'll make a list of the suggestions that can hopefully be put into play in the near future.

They had about 8 to 10 at one of the arcades I used to go to in the 80's. I never really noticed them anywhere else.

Pizza Huts had them too. The ones here did.

Sorry about the capital o, must have made a type-O... :(
Yeah, obviously its going to take time, was just giving suggestions for the future.

Haha, I know. But I'm saying my bad for making you jealous. You'll find one eventually and it will be at it's rightful place next to Warlords.

Fixed those errors smello. I'll see about adding some of those other features soon.
