Ok hi guys, im new to the arcade owning thig but im loving it. I bought a Nintendo Red Tent not so long ago, It had Vs. castlevania and Vs. Rbi Baseball. Now one monitor is perfect, and the other wont come on at all and there is no sound does if anyone can help me that would be great. the monitor is on the same side as the PCB board(if that means anything.). Also i need to take apart both control panels and fix them and replace some buttons, this makes me nervous as ive never done this type of thing before, is there a tutorial online somewhere? because right now when i look at all the wires, its all greek to me. and should i try to find Red Tent Buttons or will any colored buttons work for this cab? sorry for all the questions guys, but i have one more for ya......how do you repair joysticks? they are not broken but very stiff and squeaky? thanks guys!!!!!!!

Seems like you have multiple issues. Take your monitor problem to the monitor section. The rest of it can be solved by guys here or in the Tech Help section...

I'm in the process of redoing my control panels right now. It's not really difficult.

Just draw a diagram of the back and mark where each color wire goes. Do one side at a time so you can check the opposite side when you need to.

The buttons aren't difficult to remove/replace, just unscrew the old ones and put the new ones in place or take them apart and clean them up.

As for the side not working, make sure all of your chips are seated properly. RBI Baseball and Castlevania are daughterboards, which can be bumped out of place pretty easily.

I second Mindl3ss, It's not half as bad as it first looks. I just opened MS paint and it took me a few minutes to do a quick diagram. It may also help to work on one at a time, so you can always reference the second one ( assuming someone didn't re-wire ). The Joysticks are fairly easy as well, they will come apart completely except for the ball bearing. Then use a cheap engine or oven de-greaser to clean out the old grease. I used "White Lithium" grease once everything was cleaned up and they are working great.

EDIT: Oh and not all buttons will fit your control panel, I had to pick up some spare buttons as well. As long as they are "Nintendo" they should be the correct size, like off of a Players Choice panel. They are difficult to come by, I've had the most luck here on KLOV.

Good luck!
