Recently I bought a Nintendo Vs. Unisystem converted from a DK. It has SMB installed on it, but the marquee was some weird crop of the original and didn't include the game instructions. It's horrible. Whoever did the conversion apparently decided to apply an instruction card from a red tent to the front of the cab. Then they drilled holes and put a piece of plexi over it to protect the card. See photos.

I'm re-theming the cab for Dr. Mario as I bought a Vs. Interchanger and Dr. Mario daughter board and due to slot requirements Dr. Mario will boot first.

I'm going to end up doing some repairs to the cabinet sides and I'm torn on keeping that instruction card there. On the one hand it's clearly not how the cab was supposed to be, I hate the extra holes and random plexi. On the other hand that is the most trippy Mario art I've ever seen and it's kind of amazing! I believe it's original, this cab seems to have been converted back in the day and I don't think really messed with much since then. It would also give a nod to still having SMB in the cab since the marquee will change to Dr. Mario and Dr. Mario instructions are on the marquee.

I'd love it if there was an instruction sticker alternative available for both Dr. Mario and SMB as I'd put them both above the CP, but I don't think they exist.

What would you do? Would you keep this odd, weird, psychedelic op hack? Or clean up past sins and try to make this cab look more like God and Nintendo intended?
