I have a nintendo vs red tent having some monitor issues, both sides doing the same thing. On the right side of monitor on top and bottom the image is shaking and being compressed toward the middle and back out very fast. Should I start with a cap kit? Thought it was weird that both monitors started at the same time. Any thoughts, I am pretty new to this hobby so please bear with me. Thanks.

If both started at the same time I would check the power at the monitors power connector first. Is it stable? Is there a ground pin on the power cord? Could be a Iso transformer problem. Could also be a VS. board problem. If you have a extra swap it out.
The main problem with XM-1801's is bad flybacks and bad Yokes.
It would be odd for both monitors to fail with the same problem at the same time.

Yes, start with a cap kit. And check to see if you have XM-1801'a or 18ZAB's. I had a 18ZAB that a cap kit fixed right up...

I think Chad @ arcade.com has the flybacks available now. I had a yoke in one of my original monitors crap out and ended up getting a another working monitor.
