Will look up the monitor number this PM but is it safe to say that a monitor that has lost a couple colors could likely be suffering from bad connections (cold solder) on the neck board?

It can mean a whole host of things. If you want to look for cold solder joints, go to the main board first. The header pins on the inputs often have cold solder joints.

Just start wiggleing color wires from board harness to monitor input to see if they come back somewhat.
Put your meter on DC voltage and read the voltage from gound to each color missing(at monitor plug) and see if it is similar to the voltage color you do have. aprrox. 1 to 3 volts usually.
If everything checks out, check your drive transistors on the neck board(Game is off!!!).
Put your meter on diode check.

While it's most likely to be wiring/cold solder, you can sometimes lose colors if you have some improper voltages coming from the main board to the neckboard. Somewhere around here is a post of a G07 I fixed that had only red, and the fix was nowhere near the color circuits or the neckboard...
