Looks great. Nice job.

Got any pictures of the inside? That tag number is significant. Never seen a TGK3 upright serial number less that 1000 yet. I would be interested in a clearer picture of the tag also.

Looks great, but I personally think all red cabinets should be restored back to Radarscopes. Blue is the true DK color. But, I guess it's all personal preference. :)

Either way, fantastic job! You do good work, keep the vids coming.

He kept saying in the video how it used to be a radarscope. So, change it back!!! :)

I was replying to your comment that you think that all red DKs should be restored back to Radar Scopes, and that "blue is the true DK color". Some red DKs were factory conversions of Radar Scope cabinets; in which case, red is also a true DK color. The "true color" of something is determined by the company that makes the product, and Nintendo made red DKs (how they arrived at the color red is not relevant).

I think Nintendo should have stuck with red for DK. Baby blue sucks, regardless of where it is used.

todd,

if you don't mind, could you please provide the paint code info used for mixing the red?

and source of the paint you used?

that red looks so good i wanna paint one of mine to match yours

Great restore Todd, although I don't agree with the brand new switcher power supply. If a 30 year old monitor and a 30 year old game PCB will run, then a 30 year old power supply will work (if checked and measured) fine too. But no big issue....

I assume that this is a Japanese built cab ?

I have some doubts that that was the original monitor though. My Radar Scope (Now Mario Bros) cab came with the older Sanyo 20C monitor, not a 20EZ.

See here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=80668.0

and here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=62884.msg630324#msg630324

The 20C monitors came in a big wooden box instead of the 20EZ metal frame.

And my serial nr. is much higher. Oh and I only had to replace the "fold-over" cab to get a beautiful picture, amazing quality monitors !!!

I had already decided to once again convert this cab into a DK. MB is great, but IMHO it needs the wide-body and where MB is great, DK is in a league of it's own.

Hey Todd,

In the video you say you touched up the sides and polished them. So you touched up only the areas that needed and then what did you use to polish the sides?
