Hey guys,
I'm restoring a beat up DK and I need the paint code for Radar Scope/Donkey Kong RED. I have nothing to color match so here I am.
I'd like to do it in oil so if anyone has a Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paint code it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks!
ERIC

I color matched to the CP and posted the code in a thread. I had a few people try it out and say it looked good, and a few people say the color is not the same as the CP. I like the way it turned out. Just depends on how "original" you want to be I guess.

Yes, I was stating how it was easily found using the search function :)

thanks for sharing

Thanks for the heads up BUT, I've seen this already through MY searches.

The code is useless to me because it's latex but the info on the color matching the CPO matching might work...
I'm hoping to find someone who's repainted their cab in oil and has the code or knew of a definite color match I could get scanned.

Yea just be aware that apparently the CPO is not a perfect match. Just want to make that clear as I don't want people getting upset with me thinking it's perfect.

My above post was from a Radarscope cab that was paint matched by a BYOAC poster back in 2002. That should be a bit more reliable color match, provided you can get the paint.

I just wanted to chime in about paint codes and such.

The problem with using paint codes is that regardless of having an accurate paint code or not, the mixed paints do not match each other. They might be similar or down right close but for whatever reason, they don't match. Home Depot, Lowes, Builder's Emporium (are they still around?), etc. do not have accurate enough equipment to correctly match colors.

Might I suggest using Pantone color books and compiling a real color database? The reason is that you can buy a Panton booklet from Amazon for $40 and have something physical in your hands to match your paints to. Pantone booklets are printed often to the inks will not fade.
