Been working on a my red baron.

Heres what is done.

Game kept blowing 20Amp fuse. _ I replaced big blue and bridge rectifier. Voltages on the main board seem to be correct and the 5v is correct on the aux board. No more fuses blowing. The 22V is not showing anything on the aux board? Random sounds from the game are blasting through the speakers. (it has some life) it may just be twitching :D

After checking voltages at the main board I plugged in my Battlezone main board to see if the monitor would work. I got the LEFT half of the screen to come up.. It looked great. But it appears that the right half of the monitor is dead. I should probably no what is causing this? I hope its an adjustment.. but it probably isn't.

Any help or explanation ? I am trying to keep the cost down on this one.

You have the g05-802 in this one right? I just got a G05-802 myself, and during my searches I read that if any of the 4 deflection transistors are bad, that can make only part of the screen show up. It's possible that you have a board and monitor problem. I'd do Bobs "cap kit plus xistors" for the G05, and see where that gets you.

802's are notorious for cold solder joints on the headers. Reflow the headers on the deflection board before you go changing out the Transistors.

Headers are the metal posts that stick up on the edge of the monitor deflection board. They have plastic molex plugs on them that connect the chassis mounted transisitors to the deflection board. The solder that connects them to the board often develops hairline cracks and results in a bad connection. Resoldering them using a little rosin flux sometimes fixes the problem you describe. If not, do the Bob Roberts cap kit and trasisitor repair.

It is the 802 and I don't know what headers are either.. I am thinking they are the pins where the molex connector meets the board though. If you know anyone who will trade one of these out for a working one and save me the aggrevation ... please point me in the right direction.
