My Raiden happens to be in a black painted Ms. Pac-man cabinet. I would really like to restore it one day but I enjoy playing Raiden, so it stays as is for now. This is less of a problem because I have a pretty nice Ms. Pac-man.

My Arkanoid 2 is in a Pac Cab but whoever did the conversion really took their time and it looks great so I would NEVER think of changing this one back.

Thats kind of a tough question. To be honest if a game i like was in a converted cab, I would first try to find the original cab it came in and pick it up. Then if i liked the converted game cab it was in, id restore it and keep it, or if i didnt like it, id sell the cab outright.

I answered "sell the game" but my real answer would be to not buy a game in a conversion cabinet in the first place. That answer was sadly absent...

It does seem like there are some unique instances where rare games reside in classic cabinets or like the Arkanoid 2 and have quite well done artwork. Games like that should probably be preserved the way they are, especially if the original game was a large production game and has tons of copies still in their original unconverted condition.

Love the DOH Chris... very very nice! Is the sideart custom painted on there?

Yeah I bought it at the Maryland auction in 2005. I was so impressed by the artwork. It's hand painted and it's high quality paint by the looks of it. New power supply, New monitor, new Jamma Harness, they even put blue foil in front of the marquee bulb to give it a blueish glow. It was refreshing to see so much time and effort put into it. They probably took a loss on it since I only paid $350 for it. And I made an error, it's not a pac cab, it's a Galaxian cab. I really wish I knew who did the conversion.
