Totally basic, but I can't find any tips that covers this tiny step. Did a cap kit on a good ole' K7193, put everything back together and connected the anode...connected the anode...connected the...why won't this thing stay on?

I put power to the monitor but get zilch. Although the cause may be something else, the first thing I know is screwed up is that damn anode is likely not installed properly. I've tried all kinds of angles of insertion, but I am sure one prong is still not inside the hole properly and it is hanging on via suction.

Any tips for getting this damn thing reinserted properly?

Did you close the gap on the connections when removing? Perhaps you need to ensure enough spread to secure the connection?

. I usually hold the rubber part back so you can make sure both sides hook on. Hook one side and then push it as to close the gap and allow the other side to go in.

since its not charged you can pull the rubber back like cadillac said without killing yourself. Then just make sure both prongs go in around the hole.

Thanks guys, I got it by pulling the rubber back, getting one prong in then using my flathead/discharge tool to shove the other prong in. Monitor powered up. :)

I know it was dumb, but all the tutorials make it seem like you just "put it on". :p
