Recommendations for Robotron side art vector files?

I'm in the process of restoring my Robotron and I've tracked down a friend of a friend who works at a sign printing shop and is willing to help print out some vinyl stencils for my Robotron side art. I've found a couple of places online that have the vector files, but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these?

The side art stencils on there don't seem to be very exact. Assuming the red goes on after the blue, the circle would cover up the "W" part, so that would take some reconfiguring.

Anyway, any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

it's $80 + cost of paint :D

the quality, finish and durability will be greater than any inkjet could ever come close to. It's your machine tho; imo use your buddies services to print instruction cards ect...

I'm actually under the impression that the stencil quality I'll end up getting will be rather high. My friend works for an industrial sign printing business and they do construction, traffic, etc. signs, so hopefully this should come out good. I talked with him about it a few days ago and they create vinyl stencils for all their large scale projects. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Worst case scenario is that I'll just have to buy a few more Williams games to place on either side of the cabinet to hide the shoddy paint job, although that will be A LOT more than $80 :)

then Im not sure I understand your orginal question.
If your friend works at a big place they should know what to do with that file.
and If you ahve a cab then you should be able to determin how it was orginally done.

very few files online are ready to print or cut
mainly due to the fact the the majority of free art online is created by those who dont do this professionally.

Sorry, maybe I didn't word that as best as I could have. I guess I was just curious if anyone had any experience working with vector files to make stencils, for this or any other game. More or less seeing if anyone had any "tips and tricks." After looking a bit closer at those files, they do need to be cleaned up quite a bit before I use them.

I do have a promising sounding update though. I'm going to have these printed and cut on a removable vinyl material, so it sounds like it should be pretty close to the "gamestencils" quality. And if it's not, it's not costing me anything, so no big loss.

I'd just pop for the stencils man.. After all the time you'll spend trying to get the files to work with your cab you'll end up spending more cash in the long run. Unless you like working for free or for a buck or two an hour.

$80 is a pretty damn good price for ready to go stencils. I'm a "professional" in the design and printing field.. Also don't have a lot of money, but messing around with freebie art and taking a chance it won't fit or it's off.. Not worth the hassle.

If your dead set in doing it yourself.. Then go for it.. The art is there..

I've done a few robos over the years.. Stencils are the best way to actually make your cab look original. First one I did was the stick on sideart.. I wasn't happy with the final outcome.. Plus, it's just a giant sticker.
