Recommendations for a new plug and play Monitor?

eh, trying to stay away from lcd's. edit: nvm saw the wrong one. what do you mean by adapting the power connector

Which is why I didn't recommend a LCD - which are priced at $300+ and not the $199 I listed. If you scroll down a couple, you'll see the one I mentioned specifically. It is a CRT monitor just like you probably have already, and the video connector from your game will plug right into it (unless you have a weird monitor now). Since different cabinets used different power connectors, you probably won't have the same one on this monitor, but it's not hard to change the molex...

EDIT - didn't see your edit.

Nah, it's a VP2. I'll bet it says so on the manual that was in the box. The VP2's have been out for a few years now...

oh ok thanks. are there any reviews of it not working because of that?

It will work, but you might have to use a different style of Molex connector on either your monitor's power wires or the power wires that come from your cabinet.

For example, take a look at this picture. Let's say that your monitor has a power connector that looks like the 3-position one in the top row, middle; and your cabinet has a power connector that looks like the 2-position one in the bottom row, left. They are obviously not going to fit together; so you'll have to do something about that in order to make the connection. You could change the connector on the monitor to match the one already in the cabinet, or vice versa, or remove both of them and put in a completely different style of matching pair connectors.

With specific regard to the Happ Vision Pro, it also comes with a standard power cord that plugs into a wall socket; the same as a PC or a TV has. So that gives you an additional option for "plugging it in".

Ah okay; that's what my Vision Pros are too (I just looked at their manuals). What changes were made from the Vision Pro "1"?

Alright i gotcha now, thanks. What connector does the vision pro come stock with according to that pic? Hopefully the first kind because thats what my pac harness has.

It doesn't come with any of those specifically. It comes with a Molex brand 3-position .093" connector (the ones in the picture are Amp brand), like this - link - which is a Molex 3191 series. You can get them from Bob Roberts on this page; look for .093 Plug & receptacle 3 position w pins/socs (Monitor AC) under the Molex rectangular .093 connectors heading.

The one on the Happ Vision Pro power wires is female (like the one on the right-hand side in the picture I linked to on Bob Robert's site) with male pins, so your cabinet would need a male one, like on the left-hand side, and with female pins, to mate with it.

If you still have the old chassis, just pull the molex off of it, then put it on the new monitor. Easy. Connect the frame ground from your old monitor to the green wire and you're done...
