Hey Shertz, so do you prefer a black acrylic backing for the NEON sign, or do you prefer a the open metal frame backing instead? Remember that I must choose one style or the other when ordering, and I'm trying to get a majority consensus for when I order, so you gotta be flexible if your desired preference isn't in the majority.
This is from the first posting, and I'll post again here for anyone that want's a simplified price. I've been editing it regularly throughout the duration of this thread. Keep in mind this includes a quantity discount, as well as reflects an additional $5/sign discount I negotiated with the shop:
$200 for the 18x20 NEON shipping included
$255 for the 27x30 LED shipping included
$275 for the 30x36 LED shipping included
(insurance, tracking and two year warranty included)
This interest list will close tomorrow folks.

Oh, and for the record, the black acryllic backings seem to have taken the majority rule with 1 vote for the metal backing and 4 votes for the acrylic.

No pics of the end product, but the metal frame style would be like the beer signs you see in a store or market. The black acrylic would be just a gloss black acrylic sheet, about the same size as the neon, placed just behind it as a backdrop. Both are cool. The black acrylic looks very clean from some of the signs I've seen with them here and there. The metal framed back ones are more old school looking. I'm sure you could find some pics on Google Images, but I'm personally not particular either way.
I'm going to go ahead and collect funds to process the order from now until over the weekend, since there seems to be some folks I haven't heard back from yet, and I'm shooting for placing the actual order on Monday. Keep in mind, I'm not getting rich off of these folks....I just wanted to order a sign or two for myself and thought I could get cheaper rates for everyone if I did a group order for all of us
From the time the order is placed it should take no longer than 6-7 weeks to get ALL the signs completed. I can see if the work can be rushed, but as mentioned before, I didn't want to possibly compromise quality for speed. You should all have your signs hanging in your arcade the first week of June or so Just in time for the Summer BBQ season!

For those of you sitting on the fence about this, since I'm already getting a couple folks that might bail out and a couple others that I though FOR SURE would really be intro this:
If you decide you don't like the sign or just need the cash down the road (as mentioned several times before these are only being produced on this run only and I will not be doing another run of these) they will be quite the collectibles around the time the new movie comes out and you could probably sell the sign for a profit to someone as a private collectible....or worst case scenario, I WILL BUY IT BACK FROM YOU down the road if you decide it's not for you, provided that it isn't all busted up and broken

The list in first post has been updated to reflect those that have paid (two people only at this time), as well as the sign up list to reflect the open slots created by last minute drop-outs. I was really hoping to place this order Monday but I'm starting to get people who aren't replying & people who are dropping out, which is going to affect the minimum order amounts for the 27x30 LED signs
It's also been recommended to me that I push back the order yet ANOTHER week to allow for folks to make it easier for folks to pay for this considering rent & mortgages that may be due on the first of the month. Is this the general consensus (other than the two folks that paid already)?
My concern is that not only is this going to push back the turn-around time a little bit, but I'll be losing a $5 incentive I negotiated for placing the order before the end of this month, which I will have to eat in order to not increase the prices for folks who are only in contingent upon them receiving the prices shown in the first post. Whatever, I don't care so much about that as much as I am pushing back the turnaround time yet another week.
If pushing this order back another week means having people place an order or not, then that is what must be done I suppose. If not then I will suck it up and take out a payday advance so I can go ahead and place the order this next week to not keep folks waiting and not lose the $5/sign additional discount I worked out.
I also keep getting asked (and not just from one or two people either) about the turn-around time on the order once payment is received. I've posted it here twice, but in case I wasn't clear on my part and to set the record:
Turnaround time from when payment is received = 6-7 weeks until I receive the shipment of signs
I'm just getting a bit bummed because there are some people that are sincerely wanting these and willing to pay (either have already or will as soon as they can) and there are a few folks that are dropping out last minute which is going to potentially cause a problem with getting our order at a certain price and in a relatively timely manner. I'm being put into a position where I will need subsidize that deficit out of pocket with money I don't have just to get the order filled, unless I get a few more commitments.
I can't get registered over the RPF, and I've gotten ZERO feedback of on Tron-Sector.com and on the 501st Legion boards (where I swore I wouldn't post due to wanting to keep this run exclusive). I had hoped this run would have been better received than it's been and there are a couple folks here on KLOV that thought FOR sure would be allover this that I haven't heard from at all. I thought the prices offered were pretty fair for what is being offered, but oh well, tough times all over I suppose. A frivolous purchase like this would take back burner for me as well if I needed to spend the cash on other pressing projects or domestic priorities. Anyhoo, thank you for those that have stuck with it and paying for your orders (or will be soon). I'll make sure the order gets placed for the folks that still want their signs at the price that is shown in the first post...even if it means me not buying for myself at this time so that I can fill the gaps from folks that have dropped out.
Also, the shop will be providing me with production photos as this run progresses so I can keep you all updated on the status of your signs!

Bump on the buyer's list. Just FYI for anyone sitting on the fence....you can either sell your sign for a profit or I can buy it back from you in a few months if it's something you decide you don't want

I really think this is going to heat up as we get closer/post the Legacy movie release. If I' weren't afraid of Jason getting a C&D before I get my sign, I'd tweet this thread with a #flynnlives hashtag I bet doing that after they've been produced would definitely let someone resell at a tidy profit.
I'm just looking forward to more neon in my game room. (I have a Crusin' USA header hanging right now, and there's just something about that glow!)
In comparison to what the neon beer signs are selling for used, $200 for a brand new custom piece really seems great.
I'm really on the fence for a 30x36 LED, but I'm worried the light won't be diffused enough. The examples on page 2 have kind of scared me off. Has anyone seen these styles 'live'? How do they look?
