FB - 3rd Party Recent Scott Evans offers on FB

A month late to this thread but have some thoughts and maybe a different perspective, being that I'm 24.

1. Physical video game media doesn't exist anymore and never will again. That leaves what we have left all we'll ever have. That contradicts the argument of "car (or other hobby) prices plummet as the generation that remembers them is too old to collect." That said, I think far too many of them are still around compared to the number of people my age that will actually want them in their homes. The prices will drop, or at least stay the same, which is dropping when you factor in inflation over a many year period. The market for rare games, especially the ones seen in this thread, will be almost non-existent.

2. That's one of at least 2 Havoc protos out there. The other one was still in Owen Rubin's possession as of 10 years ago, anyone know if he still has it or who has it now? I know it's different because he talked about his having hand-drawn sideart, which this one clearly does not have.

3. Holy fuck, most of these prices are 50-100% higher than I would have guessed. I really wonder how similar to list price he's actually getting.

@PassivePac-Man , some asking prices are coming down, I updated the first post. Over a third seem to have sold.

Makes sense to price high on FB at first. Very large market reach, presumably his storage is available till they sell.

I'm tempted by some of these. Who's up for a bulk buy with delivery to Chicagoland? Split the cost of filling a truck. I will graciously store the machines till you can pick them up. ( I might also play them a bit, but graciously, of course.)

Anyone know who picked up the Indy 800?

Just curious. To me, that is the most awesome and totally impractical thing in the world.

Perhaps somebody sent it to your house?
As a surprise holiday gift?
(or probably just for free storage....)
:ROFLMAO:

That thing would be completely impractical yet worth fighting for at the same time.
I hope somebody sends it my way. I'll store it for them no questions asked!

There was a guy on here from Australia that was chasing down an Indy 800 for years.

He eventually found one and had it shipped over.

Every time this game gets mentioned I think of that guys long search for one.

Can't imagine what it cost him to have it shipped down there.

Wonder what's in that Williams Make Trax/Moto Race cab.

I don't think I've ever seen a Sprint 8. The flyer shows the base being yellow and having both brake and gas pedals, whereas the one Scott Evans has has a blue base:

This Atari marketing photo shows it only having a gas pedal. The gearstick is a 'T'-handle, which is what Scott Evans' game has. I'm guessing you only had high or low gears (1 or 2)? Can't see the gearstick on the flyer, but Sprint (One), Sprint 2, and Sprint 4 all had 4-gear sticks. They all had just gas pedals, too.

Which part? Awesome or impractical?

Are you serious? (I'm really not sure this time.)
But they both totally apply.
Impractical of course.

I would assume anyone who bought it would consider the space requirements before they made the purchase.

I know I check and my "arcade" is tiny compared to others.

I remember playing this at the Intercontinental Hotel arcade at Disney World. It was a gas.

I didn't win, but it was fun as heck to race 7 other people for a quarter.

Exactly! That makes it impractical for you. And for me. And @jehuie. And nearly everyone else on the planet.

I didn't say that.

If I wanted it, I could have found space.

However, you don't shoot any spaceships, so it's really not my kind of game.
