Just checking over my fully recapped G07, double checking all the caps are installed correctly + - including proper values, came across an installed 10uf 50v non bp radial at C303, raised a red flag since cap is marked + - and the board is not, now I'm really new at this but fortunate to have two other Vids with the same G07 chassis, G07 manual lists a different cap in position C303, my other G07 has an Orange color chicklet sized ceramic 104K 1H M. with no pos or neg markings on the component or the board, now my question...is it okay to leave a 10uf 50v + - radial in place or is this a mistake that needs correction.

That is a horizontal sync upgrade, usually to help eliminate curl when used with some boards. You remove C303 and replace it with a 10uf 50v cap with the positive leg closest to the edge of the chassis. Then you take the cap you removed from C303 and put in C501's location, then discard(or keep) the cap that was at C501.

This is documented on most cap kit listings...

Thanks Mod...forgot about that upgrade, this chassis had already been capped when I got it, noticed it when I was checking over the cap job, looking for cold solder joints.

Having a problem here. Apparently someone before me had attempted such a sync modification. However simply tied wires together at C303. At the C501 location, the cap was never pulled.

I checked the G07 docs to find what the original chicklet was at C303 to order some for stock. However I found nothing in the docs. What exactly was the original value of the C303 capacitor? Not sure why the G07 manual doesn't specify this.

zinfer that monitor width cap kit has the .1uf cap in it that you may be able to use. it might be too big since its a 250v.

Ok, thanks. I'll give it a whirl. Not sure why that original mylar was ripped off at C303 and wires tied in the first place. I used the 10uf50v electrolytic there with the positive towards the Collector. Putting that .1uv200v mylar at C501. Guess I'll find out how well it works out.
Awaiting a supply of desoldering braid to pull the busted HWC and replace. Should be finished and done for testing Monday.

C303 with the positive lead in the hole closest to the edge of the chassis PCB

if you have an issue with not being able to adjust out the curl then remove the 10uf50v and install a 22uf50v in C303. i only send the 22uf50v in my cap kits because it works much better then the 10uf caps.

Yea I've done a few of these cap kits. First one I came across with a missing C303 mylar. Haven't had a problem yet with curl after the fact.
