I just rebuilt my GO5-801 Asteroids monitor and it had a beautiful picture. Well I decided to test this extra damn Asteroids board I had and zap! The second 3A fuse from the back blows on the brick. I replace the fuse and now the monitor has HV, vector chatter, but NO damn video. WTF happened???

Still have neckglow?
The voltage from the heater comes right from the brick. You could have a flakey connection in the molex or a cold solder somewhere.

Yep have neck glow and all solder joints were touched up. It was working great till I hooked up that friggin Asteroids board. Everything works including vector chatter and the spot killer is off just no image on the screen.

2AMP Fast Blow Fuses?

In my 15V2000, I have two fast blow 2 AMP fuses that control the X and Y signals to the monitor. I'm pretty sure you have these too, so check them. The fuse is so hard to see because the filament is so fine that you might have to remove the chassis to see it, but if they're blown, that would be it.

Not for me..

Without those fuses, you get no XY signal at all, it doesn't turn my spotkiller on, but then again, I haven't found the problem yet! I just keep blowing them. I have neck glow, but no picture - and both of those fuses blow on power up. I will update later, I just got some parts today.

From what I read, the spotkiller gets turned on IF you're getting power through those fuses, but the XY isn't generating anything (thus the spot). I could be so wrong though, I don't know what the heck I'm doing. But without those fuses, you're not getting any XY signal, thus no spot at all. XY output is fine I guess, just too much for the fuses.

Anyway, if I come up with something over the next hour or so, I'll post it!

Well I replaced all four deflection bottle cap transistors...still no pic! UGH!!

Are you guys talking about the two fuses on the REG board on a 801?

I h ave a 15V2000

F600 and F700 are my fuses. I know the monitors are similar but haven't looked at one up close and personal-like.

I'm getting to it now finally after not getting anywhere with my Tron.

Ok now I'm getting this bullshit. You can see the game in attract mode in the thin line.

I also replaced all the fuses with new ones.
