I changed out my Gorgar flipper assemblies because I had a weak right flipper. Now the right flipper is stronger but the left is weak. Any Ideas I'm really starting to regret buying this machine as its just issue after issue.

EOS switch adjustment, cabinet switch contacts dirty, connectors at the driver board, flipper relay contacts, connectors at the power supply and misc connectors that could be in between all those things.

If you replaced the eos , sometimes there is a film on the 2 contacts. I have had this in the past and a little file worked out fine.

No regrets! Gorgar is a fun pin! Once you're past the problems, you'll get to enjoy it.

I had to replace the driver board, the power board, almost all the solenoids, some plastics, the snake pit assembly, lock bar, glass, and back glass on mine :)

Williams games of this era can be tricky but don't give up. Did you replace all of the parts in the flipper chain when you did your rebuild? If you just did the coil sleeve, plunger and stop then you need to go back in there and change the EOS switch, and the flipper switch on the cabinet.

I had the same issue on my Blackout until I switched the EOS and Cab switches were changed with new ones.

Do you have the proper clearence between the flipper pawl and the bushing thru the playfield?? It doesn't take much to slow down a flipper. They both should work freely manually, pushing them up without power, they shouldn't drag at all. Does the weak one wiggle in the bushing? Is the bushing egged out? That will slow a flipper down.

I agree, check the cabinet switches. I recently had the exact same problem with one machine, and it a few minutes with a file cleaning the contacts made a world of difference.

I bought the full kit from pinballlife.com. It did not come with new switches for the cabinent however. Im going to take a look at it again tnight. I wouldnt be so upset about it except it was sold to me described as 100% working condition and i didnt know any better as this is my first pin and I feel I could have found a better deal if I knew just a bit more.

Ahhhh.... The beauty of pinball ownership.... It doesn't take much to get one of these machines to not work 100%. A simple move from one part of the basement to the other will usually trigger something to not work...

They are a fickle beast, but the knowledge gained from fixing them is invaluable...

That and too many sellers think that if a flipper moves in any way when you press the button, that qualifies as 100% working.

Yes most rebuild kits do not include the cabinet switches. They can be purchased individually though. They can become pitted, and the contact points can even wear out to the point of being gone.
I had a machine with flipper problems, and did a rebuild, still weak. Found one cabinet switch was missing a contact point entirely and a hole was burning through the plate. I was able to buy a replacement. The switch on the other side, was not burnt though, but I figured it would be a good idea to replace it anyway as it was still weak. It was for 2 flippers(upper and lower) and replacements for these were out of stock, so I went to the tool box and grabbed a file and fixed it.

Don't get discouraged. Pinballs will always have to have maintneance, but they are well worth it. A few hours of headaches usually results in many more hours of fun and smiles.

Its not you, that's just an old Williams pinballs... Not that its bad. I bet its the EOS switch as others have mentioned. I restored a Flash and it did the same thing. Turned out to be the EOS switch.

Make sure the coil sleeve is clean, or new too. Cycle the flipper by hand, watchnig it and make sure there's no binding too.

Alright new issue. Flipper was working after re soldering all points on solenoid. Recently it just started going wacky it moves very slowly and appears to be heating up upon contact any Ideas guys?

Can anyone point me to were I can buy new switch for the flippers?

I will say its your EOS switch, as this happened to me. your rebuild kit should have come with eos switches, mine did from terry at pinballlife.

98% of "full" flipper rebuilds are unnecessary and a waste of money. The coils and sleeves and springs rarely go bad. disassemble and clean and tighten everything (pf bushings included), make sure the bracket holds the coil tightly, file down the end of the plunger if it has mushroomed, check/clean/adjust all contacts. Usually the only part that wears is the linkage (plastic/fiberboard), where the holes may enlarge and introduce too much play in the hinge action.

Check the appropriate guides at http://www.pinrepair.com/ for good info and tips, and welcome to the world of pin ownership! I bet once you get the game working fine, you'll miss the tweaking and fixing. ;)
