i received the parts to rebuild the rectifier board.. i did not get new trifurcon pins.. so, should i replace the header pins now, or wait until i can match the new header pins with new trifurcon pins? my pins dont look terrible, i am rebuilding it because i lost the 43 volts needed to boot up.

also, i am not planning on doing the mods that pinrepair shows.. if necessary, i will do that later.

any thoughts?

It all depends on whether or not you want to get it back up and running again quickly. If you intend to do other repair work after the rectifier board then replace the header pins now and swap them out later after all is working. If no other repairs need to be done then wait for the new header pins.

Good luck!

IMO get it up and running first, and then once it's all going, do the full out overhaul, including the POWER UPGRADES!

If you're planning to do everything in a couple weeks to a year, I highly doubt anything is going to corrode to the point of unusability between the time you get it going, and the time you overhaul it.
Unless of course you're just shooting to get it fixed, running and out the door...

I would replace the headers at the same time as the bridges. Saves taking the rectifier board out of the game again later. Just don't wait forever to replace the connector pins.

well, i ended up just putting all the new components on, but didnt do the headers. it only takes me 5 minutes to pull out the rectifier board, so i will do that when i order the new pins for the connectors. when i do that, all connectors and pins will be replaced.. i guess the easiest way to do that is to pull the whole harness out of the backbox.

i needed to get this back up and running for our movie nights next weekend. and i hvae no time this week to do it.

And 5 minutes to disassemble it. At least 5 minutes screwing around getting setup to solder/desolder. 5 minutes here. 5 minutes there :)

I wouldn't do that. It will be much faster to just crimp in the new pins with the harnesses in the game. 2 of the connectors go to the backbox, one goes to the playfield and the other one goes to the cabinet. Pulling all of that out is going to be pretty time consuming.
