I just swapped out the power supply from a 200w to a 15amp switcher because I thought the supply was faulty due to rebooting. Prior to that I have repaced out some ICs due to Bad ROM errors. The ROM errors are gone but the rebooting remains. Any thoughts what I could try next?

My Joust rebooting issues were caused by a bad ground connection to the main board. My current Sinistar rebooting issues are caused by a bad plug to the power supply.

When using a switcher, you need to remember that the ground for the coin door is on the plug that goes to the old power supply board. If you unplug that, you will need to bridge the ground from that plug to the switcher ground or you won't have coin switches or the three option switches on the coindoor.

To check for similar issues to what I posted earlier, turn it on with the back off / open. Move the ground and power wires to the main board to see if there is a bad connection. That is how I determined I had a bad ground wire connection to the main board. I could jiggle the wire a little and get the machine to do things like stop working with memory errors or restart.

I found the bad connector on the Sinistar by having the machine off and very slightly tugging on the wires running from the power brick to the connector that plugs into the power supply board. Two of the wires came out of the connector just by touching them. The connector was burned in that same spot.
