Curious on the reasons you may have in selling your games.

Money for another project?
Tired of the game?
Like to restore another?
Or the ever so famous - I want out!

To get something else. I like to trade up if I can.

My pins will eventually turn into a new (stern)

Drivers will eventually turn into Rush 2049, Fast Furious etc.

Need extra cash for taxes, bills, whatever

The game gets boring

You get mad, and take your aggression out on that one damn game which is always having an issue. That'll show it who's boss.

I am at the point where if I want a different game, I have to sell a game because there simply isn't any more room in my house to put another game. Luckily I have some other places I can put projects though.

I've sold a couple machines - One was a Frogger project that I didn't want to spend any more time on, and another was cocktail of a game I already had in standup form.

But for the most part, the reasons have been none of the above. 'OUT OF ROOM' is my reasoning now. If I want anything else, it will have to replace a current game. Not what I want to do, but I won't have a choice.

I've used a room arranger program for PC just to squeeze more games in my basement, but I have to account for a small bar, stools, multiple TVs, consoles, couch, futon, display cases, chairs, etc. The bar hides my sump pump from public view, so that's not moving. And I'm not going to sacrifice a place to sit to put a game there instead.

I usually sell something to pay for a new game. when you really want a game, you quickly figure out which ones are expendable. I have sold a few in the past to pay bills, and it sucked.

I've sold four games in the last 20 years. Mostly because they were something I didn't really care about.

That's all going to change this year. I need to make some space and lighten the load.

1. Found a game I want more
2. Tired of dumping money into a game that keeps breaking
3. Space
4. Can play it on my Mame cab
5. ADD

1. upgrade to a nicer condition machine (same title)... I've done this for: Assault, Asteroids Deluxe, SmashTV, Rampart and now Zeke's Peak.

2. I'm outta space but can't stop buying...so somethings gotta go. I recently sold the Fonz for this reason. Kinda regret it but ah well.

3. Dislike the game (space ace)

4. like the game but afraid of the possibilty of it failing one day (Dragon's Lair)

I'd consider it mostly when the game no longer fits into my plans for whatever reason. For example, I'm seriously thinking about selling my Missile Command cocktail because it gets used the least of my games, and the tabletop surface is just a crap-catcher in the basement.
