Now there was a thread this past week talking about scanners commonly used by some folks to scan in sideart. Right now I know I definitly would like to take the time to restore my Virtual On Cabinets if I could, but a lot of the sideart are vinyl stickers. So I would need to scan them piece by piece, touch them up on photoshop, and piece them together. My deal is there was a scanner mentioned in that thread about the HP Scanjet 4600, I mean its an awesome looking scanner and everything........but it goes for like $200 for used........

Does anyone know of any good quality flatbed scanners that can do around 400+ DPI without pretty much costing me the price of 2-3 games (PCBs) much less a cabinet!?

Right now I have one of those combo printers that has a scanner, but that would be too bulky to manipulate around the side panels of the cabinets......which are already limited on space because of the contours of the cabinet are not exactly completely flat.

$200? You aren't looking hard enough. I got mine NIB off eBay for $65 a couple years back.

this is the one i have

http://www.visioneer.com/products/item.asp?PN=7400

got it from newegg about a year ago for less than 20$ shipped.

btw: i mainly bought this for a cheap copier, i had a visioneer scanner many years ago and it worked flawlessly, i've also got a HP scanjet in a box but it's not compatable with newer machines. it was a good unit also but not as good as the visioneers.
