Reason why my garbage guys love my house!

Its very easy to say - put it on craigslist - I would have paid 20 bucks...
I have tried that before and cabinets have sat here for weeks... no thanks - its gone - dont have to look at it - space is open again now.... done deal

I had an empty Midway cab that sat on craigslist for $20.00 for weeks... I finally got fed up and stuck it on for FREE... I had 3 responses within an hour and it was gone within two...

There is a segment of CL that will not pay a DIME for something, but will pick up ANY piece of shit for FREE. I'd hate to see what their garage/yard looks like.

Next up for me: FREE Arachnid Super Six cab... I just have to pull the items I want off it first.

My garbage guys absolutely kick ass... NIGHT AND DAY from the lazy assholes who used to pick up the garbage in California. These guys actually get out of the truck and load shit up manually instead of relying on a machine... if they drop someting... THEY ACTUALLY PICK IT UP. I can shit can monitors, electronics, heavy shit... you name it. I've yet to stick ANYTHING out there that they didn't pick up.

Probably helps that I give `em a Christmas card with a Walmart/Target/Home Depot card each Christmas...

You should be recycling the monitors and heavy electronics. Our town picks up these types of items separately for recycling which is cool of them.

You city folk get screwed. (and I do remember those days)

We live out in the sticks and have bulk pick-up once a month here.
No restrictions.

But rotten cabs and such usually wind up here when the time comes.....

We wait for our bulk pickup as well. If I had items like that out at any other time though they would just drive right on by. I guess it shows you the true power of Mountain Dew huh.

I wish I was as lucky as you. I put my old COCKtail cabinet (sorry, I really hate that thing lol) in the free section of craigslist at 10AM this morning and here it still sits at 6PM. I am almost willing to pay to get rid of it.

Which cocktail cab? Is it garbage, or salvageable? I want to get one...

Evidently our landfill accepts monitors up to 25" in the trash... something about a lye barrier or somethinganother... plus when you go to the landfill you can they (the workers) separate stuff and put it in to different piles...

...and the worker told me the 25" limit was due to weight... that if I wanted to lug out my 32" TV myself they'd take it.

Yea we have so many restrictions on recycling, I feel like I did have to bring stuff there myself last time I had something over a certain size.

NYC, they take everything. I changed my carpets with padding for the entire house and they took everything. Upstate, Once a month.

I put an old broked rear projection analog TV on CL for free, and had a guy show up within a day. Hauled it out of my basement too!

Damn... that hurts me just looking at that, especially as someone who's looking to get into the restoration hobby.

Post up your location, maybe someone on here near you has some cabs they don't want...?

First things first - I need to draw out plans to get my garage into an acceptable work space (I'm starting from ground zero here - work bench, cabinets for tools, lighting, power tools).

Love that guy in your avatar. Just use the flying guillotine to chop up old cabs before you put them out for the trash man.

The "one armed boxer" with his other arm in his shirt. The Indian/plastic-man stretching out his arms and legs. That's a great old movie.

Our garbage guys would pick up nuclear waste if you set it out for them. They'll take anything, any size. No extra charge. They may call for backup, but they always get the job done.

...

.... I should probably stop drinking the city water at some point....

Now imagine having how many empty project cabs sitting around
I dont trash any cabs unless there really is NO POINT in keeping it or selling it.
You cant tell from the picture - but the whole front of the machine was removed as well - so it was only the sides/top and bottom of the cab.

Here is a link to the final Kangaroo cab

Beautiful work with the Kangaroo end-result. God, I haven't played that game since it was in the local IGA some 26, 27 years ago. :)

I think the game play is awful - as are the sounds... very similar to my Arabian which is also a Sun Electronics game... However my wife likes both Kangaroo and Arabian - and when the wife LIKES a game that is taking up space in the basement - you keep em!

Wait you really dumped a game cab!??! Wow, i would take that junk. One less kangaroo cab in the world:( this is how arcade games all(most) die.
