I've got two blown choplifter boards. Both have the sme problem, the chip with the heat sink looks blown or damaged. Is there someone here that might be interested in repairing it for me?

I assume that it's the same board as the one in this pic:

and the heatsink you are referring to is in the top right hand corner of that pic - if so that's the sound amplifier. In what way does it look blown or damaged - is it cracked or have damage as a result of the amp blowing?

Curious that both boards have a blown amp - did you buy them from the same person? If so they may have been connected up incorrectly so expect other components in that area to also be damaged, possibly elsewhere too.

Do the boards boot up okay and are they playable, but without sound?

I could fix them but I'm in the UK and I guess you're in the US? If the US then Channelmaniac here could help you out.

If the audio output IC is bad then the board is being improperly wired into the cabinet.

The Choplifter manual shows it using an external 100 ohm volume control. If this is miswired then the audio amp chip can be damaged.

These boards I jacked into my system 8 test rig, where only the power and video are hooked up. It was on with no video for about 1 minute, then there was a pop.

Any chance you would like to fix it?

Sounds like your test rig either grounded or sent power through the audio pins on the edge connector.

I don't have a JAMMA adapter built for that boardset yet. I picked up a slew of edge connectors but haven't gotten the JAMMA fingerboards yet.
