I am in the position where I need to hold down a wooden control panel temporarily. 1 day tops. This is a custom control panel so the back latches don't work. (At least I haven't gotten to that part yet.)

So if I use wood glue, I'm worried I may not get the panel back up easily.

Does anyone know if Lowes or HD makes some really sticky double sided tape or something like that? Any ideas? Basically, I want to hold it in place so the general population (my relatives) don't rip it off by accident but not hold it down so I can't get it back off again.

Good wood glue will be stronger than the wood fibers, creating a broken mess to get it back apart. I'd go with double sided tape.

You can buy a heavy duty double sided foam tape...it's gray and has a red plastic wrap. That would do the trick. I wouldn't glue it with wood glue, but a hot glue gun would work as well and be easy to peel off...just don't use a ton.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to try the double sided tape and hot glue before messing with wood glue.
