ok really stupid question time: How do you safely discharge this thing? I'm gonna be trying to pull my two monitors out this weekend and don't wana shock the fool out of myself...
you safely discharge it the same way you would any monitor.
alligator clip, clip one end to the monitor frame, and a flathead screwdriver to the other side. I personally lift up on the suction cup and pull it up high enough that my fingers are nowhere near the anode pins, and just touch the pins and you should get a healthy zap from it. you could do like most people do and just jimmy the flathead under the suction cup and aim at the middle too.
unless you leave the monitor off for a day or so.. then it clears out the charge on its own really.
if the monitor was just run and you discharged it, touch the flathead to the hole again, cause it can recharge itself after you "discharged" it.
