Hey everyone

Hopefully someone can explain this

A long time ago i made a adapter to read 08 eproms as 16 and worked great but sadly i miss placed that so today i remade one up and seem to be having issues.

I can't see to get a vaild CRC check each time question i have and i can't remember what i did here but because i am using a external power supply for -5 12 +5 and GND. I am not using the eprom programmers +5 or GND and was thinking maybe back then i justed use the -5 and 12 off the external power supply and used the programmers +5 but surely its not needed as i am using the external power supply for all voltages. Tried on a few different 08 and getting the same issue unless these eproms are no good hmm

Any help would be great

Cheers

Did you connect the GND of the external power supply to the GND of the programmer? That's 100% necessary... the other voltages should be fine either way. Some chips are sensitive to the correct voltage though, so you should make sure your +12, -5, and +5 are all within the expected tolerance.

Thanks for the reply

Yes i did that to both programmer and external but still got the same issue so i removed the external power supply +5 and connected it up the programmer +5 and all is working 100% now and reading correctly :)

Cheers
