It might not be completely fair to call this one a restoration. If I am not mistaken, the only true Reactor parts are the coin door and the control panel. Everything else (including the cabinet) was sourced.

But we are happy to finally have one to play and this one came out great. And, as promised, 2025 is the year for getting projects DONE!

As always, more pics and videos on the One Drive: Reactor Build 2025

Looks pretty close to mine that I owned once. I loved the attract music on that one.

The t-molding on mine was black. The orange blends in too much for my liking.

I'm in the process of putting mine together. Where are the bolts on the side for the control panel? I have the measurements to drill them, but I keep putting it off since it gives me anxiety if I get them wrong. I was looking for yours and didn't see any.

Nice build by the way!

It is actually red t-molding, even though it does look pretty orange in the photos I shared. It complements the reds in the side art pretty well!

We went back and forth on whether to use black or red, and in the end the red won out.

Thank you, Del.

We had the option of either through-bolting the control panel brackets or just screwing them in from the inside with 1/4" hex screws.

Since this isn't going on location anywhere, we felt that it was pretty safe to just screw the brackets in and keep the sides of the cabinet looking clean.

That is the one nice thing about building from scratch rather than restoring an old cabinet - I don't mind doing things that differ from the original a bit if I think it might look better aesthetically.

If you are using MDF as the original cabinet was done, use through bolts. The others will fail due to the nature of MDF (which is why they used through bolts originally.)

For home use that works! I still need to decide what I want to do on mine. But I'm leaning towards putting the bolts in since I have the repro brackets from Takeman. Also, in addition to the pic that @Arcadenut sent, my buddy @Gibby has an original that he allowed me to take apart and shoot video of for measurements, etc. He also sent me measurements of the bracket holes, but it's nice to see what other have done to compare on what I need to do.
