Re-capped and issue persists (blocks on characters) - Sanyo 20ez & Mario Bros.

I have an original Mario Bros. cabinet.

I just finished the audio and monitor re-cap (Sanyo 20ez).

Was hoping it would resolve the issue I was having, but it still persists. I did fix the audio issues I was having though.

There aren't bars or lines through the image, rather every character has a "block" imposed on them (see picture).

Could the issue be with the Mario Bros. PCB?
If not, what else in regards to the monitor should I check / adjust?

1. That's not Super Mario Bros. That's original Mario Bros.
2. You have a board issue, not a monitor issue. Reaseat everything that can be reseated and make sure your voltage is good.

Sorry, knew better than that "Super".

Will get into the PCB and reseat everything.

Can you point me in the right direction in regards to checking voltage?

Didn't know there was a test mode.

I guess I'll whip out the user manual and figure out how to get into it.
Cleaned it up a while back and just turned it on after re-capping it.

OK - The self test showed the RAM as OK, the others had checksums.

Removed the Mario Bros. PCB and disconnected and reconnected all the connections and swapped in new batteries (no corrosion, but pretty sure those were original). Appearance wise, it looked clean and nice - none of the chips were hot to the touch. I doubt the 6 screws holding the PCB in place had ever been removed.

Plugged everything back in and entered test mode again to tweak the colors so the pipes are greener, looks good.

Went around to play it and the "blocks" came and went, shaking the machine made them go away. ???

A little hesitant to clamp all the wires back down, put the rear back on, and push it back against the wall.

Pictures of it now attached.

I'm in need of the lower coin door & frame if anyone knows of a reasonable price to order from.

It's the Asahi-Seiko one and looks like the attached picture.
